Nine Man's Morris, sometimes called Merels, is an
traditional game with has been enjoyed for
hundreds of years, and is believed to date
back to ancient Egypt. Played by the Norsemen on
their long voyages, the game quickly spread
across Europe and into the British Isles. It enjoyed
the height of its popularity in Medieval times and was a favorite
pastime of peasants and nobles
alike right into the Elizabethan Age.
