Nine Man's Morris, sometimes called Merels, is an traditional game with has been enjoyed for
hundreds of years, and is believed to date back to ancient Egypt. Played by the Norsemen on
their
long voyages, the game quickly spread across Europe and into the British Isles. It enjoyed
the height of its popularity in Medieval times and was a favorite pastime of peasants and nobles
alike right into the Elizabethan Age.

Our version of this traditional game features an attractive and colorful illuminated border for a beautiful and lush medieval look. The board is printed on sturdy canvas and comes with 20 dainty (two are spares!) game pieces hand cast in lead-free pewter. Full instructions are included and it all comes in a handy carrying pouch so it can be taken anywhere!

Not recommended for children under five.
